Critical Literacy for Monolinguals and Bilinguals-in-the-making

Abstract

This article discusses: (1) The reasons why all learners, and in particular those in the process of aquiring a second language, benefit from critical literacy approaches and, (2) Offers suggestions for instruction that will help learners and their teachers collaboratively question text and the world.
